Living by Faith, not by Sight!- Part II
If you have not read last week's inspirational word, please read Part I. This week, we would push further on our discussion about faith to show its significance in our walk with God and to live a successful life in His Kingdom while we are on earth. There is nothing written, as far as I can tell that we need faith when we go to Heaven. We desperately need it here and on earth.
To get saved and enter into His Kingdom, we need faith. To effectively live in His Kingdom right here while away from the Head Quarter, we still need faith. To enjoy the maximum benefits within His Kingdom, we really need to have faith. Faith may not be everything in His Kingdom right here on earth but the key to unlock all other things in His Kingdom. Whether it is Devine healing, Kingdom prosperity, Eternal Wisdom, Kingdom favor and many more, we need faith as a currency to trade and get access through using this key, Faith.
When we read The Faith Chapter- Hebrews 11, we could be able to see that all those giant achievements and successes in the past were unlocked through faith. It says, by faith Noah, by faith Abraham, by faith Isaac, by faith Moses’ parents, by faith Moses, by faith ....The writer of this book asked, what more shall I say? (Hebrews 11: 32). He found lack of time to excuse himself from listing all those outstanding miracles performed but he said that these fellow men conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised through faith. Through faith some shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword. The story continues. We always appreciate how lucky those patriarchs were as if they were from another planet or made of some other stuff than ordinary men. The ingredient that made them enjoy those uncommon successes and to become Biblical celebrities was faith. You are perfectly made to enjoy your journey with God except the lack of the right dose of one ingredient-faith.
In our own generation, while the same challenge (lion, fire, and sword, what have you) eats/burns/consumes some, some scoff on it and looks like they are exempted. We should ask why if we happened to be victims of some giant issues for which others in the kingdom are immunized. My first place to question, when it comes to my personal frustration with some lions, swords, and fires that have been consuming my life, is the lack of faith to confront and conquer them. I knew that I was a little faith away; I never complain against God. It is not God that favors some and victimizes others. Our own level of faith is the one dictating our level of immunity for a particular issue. Friend, you are not far away and lacking many things, you are just a faith away from your next breakthrough.
The class difference in the religious circle is all about the difference in faith. I am not saying that faith alone brings excellence in ministry or in our personal journey with God. Yes, there are more attributes like character, commitment, and consistency that are important to remain excelled in the spiritual world. However, having all other factors cannot compensate that one factor-faith in God and His Sovereignty. One of the same mistake humanity have been making as ancient as back in the era of Moses and Abraham is the thinking that we all are equal without questioning why someone gets a better result and favor for the same issue. Those patriarchs who enjoyed those miracles were not different or made of something different than their generation. Faith made the difference. God is not respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). By nature, humans tend to question when we see excellence in others, which we don’t have without realizing that there might be some thing extra those guys are doing behind closed doors.
The people said "Abraham was only one man, yet he possessed the land. But we are many; surely the land has been given to us as our possession" (Ezekiel 33:24). These people thought that they were similar with Abraham in everything and were majority and claimed they deserve to possess the land. In the Kingdom of God, it is not about number. Majority losses value against anything plus faith. Abraham believed God against all odds and when it looked like no hope at all (Galatians 3:6). That is to say, our status in the Kingdom of God is determined based up on our faith.
Let me elaborate my case a little bit though the example is not perfect. If you have a debit card worth of millions of dollars (let’s suppress other factors for the sake of discussion. Because you need to have many things than money to live and I am just suppressing those factors for the sake of argument), do you really worry about going school or buy a town house, or take a vacation, and many more? No one might know you carry that much money with you and many people might even despise your worth since they haven’t seen what you carry. The reality is, you are a card slide away for your home, tuition payment, your doctor’s visit, a trip to Bahamas, and many more even if sight might not realize that. Though there are many other ways that elevate our status within a given community, having big currency sets the status of someone high. In the Kingdom, which is limitless of surprises, riches, and miracles, if you have faith, you are a word away to activate your blessings. No one might know your worth (the stupidity of sight J) in the Kingdom but you carry a currency ready to use according to the value attached on it. Your status within the Kingdom is dependent on your faith, currency. If you are dictated by sight, you are on a wrong road and need to make a U-Turn ![]()
However, we know that the debit card cannot be just issued without you pumping money into your account. Likewise, you need to have what it takes pumped into your spirit before you carry strong faith equivalent to a ballistic missile against the devil or a multimillion dollar worth healing, blessing, favor, protection, and many more. The Bible says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10: 17). As we cannot quantify the worth of a card by looking at it, someone has to slide it and we put a figure on its worth and its capacity in buying stuffs and rendering services. Similarly, the result someone delivers from the Spiritual world talks how much faith that person has; sight cannot tell us what is loaded in that person. The result comes when someone activate its faith to unload its expectations which might not be around and visible via sight.
Your worth in the spiritual world is abstract as all cards looks like the same until someone ventures to slide. Some may end up negative while some in millions and maybe in billions. That is to say, we cannot know the worth of how much faith we carry, until we work towards bringing the benefits of faith as faith without work is dead (James 2:17). It should also be clear that as generating a financial fortune takes time, developing unwavering faith is a process, take time, and effort. It is not all about by accident or luck or a one shot exercise. No champion appeared in one shot victory. There must have been multiples of small wins at various stages. We will continue our discussion on the significance of faith and more.
